Well I’ve started running again. I am starting back from scratch. This past week I ran 9 miles; 1.5 miles Monday, 2.5 miles Tuesday , 2 miles Wednesday , 1 hour mountain biking Thursday and 3 miles running Sunday. I missed one day of workout due to helping josh with his 52 chevy that he is trying to get ready for his wedding. My goal is to go sub 20min 5k by March for the Jackson, MS St. Patrick Day race. Also new to this training regime is the addition of a running partner. His name is Kato and he is a 5 month old rescue dog. He seems to enjoy running with me daily and he is a good motivation to go faster.

Last night I didn’t get to do much work on the Mustang. Michelle brought dinner home right after work and I stayed late at work. I did find the missing second pigtail that the steering column’s wiring harness goes into. I reconnected the battery and the LED tail light flashing unit and started testing. The brake lights light up when I press the pedal when the key is in the ON position. This is correct. They go off when the pedal is released. Now playing around with the turn signal I got some unexpected results. Mainly the sequencing is wrong. At some point the two boards must have gotten swapped. I think I have the right one in the left light and vice-versa. Along with the sequencing being wrong the outside most section of light is not coming on. It is also very slow to blink up front. The turn signal was being very temperamental and finicky to get it in “Just the right spot” so the turn signals would work.

My plan for tonight is to swap the tail lights and partially reassemble the steering column. and then retest the tail lights.

This past weekend, my father-in-law and myself drove over to Pensacola to pick the mustang up from my parents house. Along with the mustang we picked up all of the new parts that were waiting to be installed and our used bolt bucket, two doors, a t5 transmission, and four 4 lug wheels. I am borrowing the welder from my father so I can do some future suspension upgrades.

Now that the car is in Madison I have done some work organizing all of the parts and getting the car situated. Monday I put the first new part on the car in three years. It was the license plate light but it was a start. Another accomplishment of the night was getting the tailights working. They still don’t work with the turn signals and the brake lights do not light up brighter but at least I can confirm that I can get power back there.

Tuesday I ordered Maier racing Perforamce leaf springs for the rear, a Maier racing Panhard bar, and Maier racing front coil springs. I ordred all of these parts so I can get the ride height where I want it before I order new tires and get an alignment. I also ordred some new car cleaning suplies from autogeek.net. When they come in and I have time to review them I will post in more detail about what I purchased and what I think about each product. I am going to add a page to this site for the mustang that will be my running to-do list to keep track of what needs to be done.

Well I have done some work. I have been down for quite some time due to a hardware failure on my old server. I was able to recover both my site and my databases but unfortunately I lost the structure to my image gallery. I finally upgraded hardware now running an I3 with 8gb memory and 40gb SSD with 1.5TB of traditional disk space This is also serving as a HTPC so its built to be as multipurpose as possible. I doubt these hardware upgrades will make the site any faster since the choke point is my upload speed from ATT-U verse. I am looking into different methods of Image Organization so I can have a online gallery of the images I want to share but be able to organize them through some local software. I am thinking of using Iphoto for the organization and then writing some code to scrape the iPhoto directory to host the photos. You should see progress in the next month.

Well it has been a while without a post. Summer has come and past. I had a good break. I am in the second week of my last semester at Mississippi State University, I am ready to be done. I have been doing a lot of all terrain biking. I can’t call it mountain biking due to the lack of mountains. I tore down my black single speed and gave new life to the 830al. The forks on both bikes were shot and I could not afford to get two new forks. The drive-train on the 830al was shot. I decided to combine the two bikes and make one. I bought a used Rock Shox Tora 302 off Craigslist and rebuilt the fork and set it up for the 830al. I then harvested the conversion kit from the black single speed to put on the 830al. So now I am down to one mountain bike which is single speed. I am doing quite well on it. I thought it would be to hard with all the geared people around here but I am keeping up very well. I can tell I am gaining a lot of power out of riding single speed. So now I have more 1×1 bikes then geared bikes. I got rid of a total of two bikes this summer, Michelle should be proud. I donated the frame and some of the parts from the black single speed to my friend Ryan. School is going well, for the first week. I am taking some interesting classes. I think Computer Forensics will be my favorite. I have officially finished my last first week of school. Every day down is a day closer to being done. Lets hope I update this more frequently.

So, in this month of may, I don’t have school, but I have been itching to learning something that I want to learn. Although I don’t think I will learn much, I bought the Apple training book for their 9L0-402 test. I plan on reading it this month and hopfully taking the test before school starts in june. I think the book will be good to cover any gaps in my knowledge, and would be a good starting point for my testing and certifications. I have always wondered about A+ and Network + but at this point I figure my job history speakes more then what those test will. I hope the book comes in before the Iowa trip so it will give me something to read on the drive. Also I am playing around to get a higher grasp of CSS.

Michelle and I played tennis for an hour and a half yesterday and then I road bikes with bryan. Today I worked on the manifold for the protege. Worked on porting and polishing the intake. Did some research. The lug nuts came in. I plan on putting them on later, to replace the couple ones I had to get from auto zone after loosing some. Here is a picture of the manifold after 3/4 of the way ported.

Today was also “Bike to Work Day.” I got a good sleep last night and woke up all by myself at 630 and got ready for the ride into work. Met up with the group at 7:20 to ride at 7:30. We road in as a moderately sized group. it was something different. Michelle graduates tomorrow. Her family is coming up in the early AM. I won’t say it will be fun, but I am sure I will have a great time hanging out with every one. I am very Proud of her, although I don’t think the fact that its over has quite hit her yet. So far I have one grade, I got a B in data comm, which I am very happy with. I did some editing on my site today as well, and worked on some CSS. Tonight I am going to relax with some friends, maybe upgrade to Iphone 3g 3.0 software, and clean.
